If you’re looking to improve your skin’s elasticity, and decrease the appearance of scars as well as hyper-pigmentation and fine lines, there’s one solution - and it’s to the power of 3.

Meet R3 . It’s an elegant facial oil that contains three nourishing ingredients that work in harmony - all stemming (no pun intended) from rose:

  • Rosehip Seed CO2 Extract Oil (Organic) is highly beneficial for the skin due to the presence of trans-retinoic acid, Vitamins C and E and and Omega 3, 4, 6, 7 and 9 and antioxidant carotenoid. Research has shown Rosehip Seed Oil is a tissue regenerator, helping to prevent signs of aging, reducing scar tissue, and minimizing wrinkles.
  • Rosehip Whole Fruit Oil (Organic) is rich in beta carotene, vitamins (B1, B2, B3, C and E), essential fatty acids, and zinc, improving skin texture and tone as well as tackling dullness and dryness.
  • Rose Otto Essential Oil (Organic) is calming and naturally combats acne and rosacea with its powerful antibacterial properties. It improves skin’s permeability to allow your skin to soak in more nutrients, leaving your skin smooth and moisturized.

I came across this divine new creation from Mandana, Founder of Essentique - a heavenly shop in Palo Alto I finally had a chance to visit in-person while I was in California earlier this month. R3 was a product of particular interest for me, as I do have some acne scars from the good old days, and thus was interested in using it for that purpose. Oils can also be annoying to work with because they’re...well...oily. The fact that this comes in a easy-to-use rollerball was a total bonus for me!

Mandana suggests applying it to a clean and slightly damp face, under and around eyes and neck in the evening, 2-3 times per week. You can even add a drop of it as a booster to your moisturizer. Furthermore, this ultimate multitasker oil can be used as a spot treatment stretch marks and - you guessed it: scars!

So far I’m loving it as both a scar healing + eye serum, it’s so dewy and rich you can’t help but deny the power of these ingredients.

This particular item from Essentique is not yet available for sale, so stay tuned on their website for updates, and if you’re super eager, you can always try your hand at a DIY version - my friend has tried this recipe before with much success!
